![]() ![]() Ultimately, you'll find it's WELL WORTH it to have software dedicated to what you do without fiddling around with Krita or Photoshop or other half-ass programs that will make you want to pull your hair out at the end of the day. Second, if you're passionate about animation as a hobby, TV Paint is pretty cheap as far as hobbies go (I spent almost that much on a Steamdeck). Just look at something like "Dear Basketball," (without comparing yourself to Glen Keane of course) or frankly any of Keane's ballerina studies. First, pencil tests are beautiful to look at on their own and don't need color or finalized BGs. If I were looking to do this as a hobby, I'd accept a couple of things to make my life much easier. Labors of love in this medium take YEARS of work to finish, and most of them are simply abandoned. ![]() Animation is very labor intensive, and a huge chunk of work for an individual to bite of by themselves. But this should work fine.I think it's sort of like asking why it's so difficult to break into the hobby of skyscraper construction. It’s worth noting that sometimes old software doesn’t work ideally on newer OS, especially since adobe no longer supports/updates these apps, so you may have to tweak some settings. It’s simply an old download with a public key given by adobe. You’re not torrenting or pirating anything. You could even go online and find a different download from another website and just enter the key code, it’s safe. This is not “sketchy”, so you shouldn’t have to worry about malware or anything of that nature. Adobe Animate costs way too much money for something thats been largely left behind in the industry from what I hear. This video has the old installers and the key code in the description. Krita is a good free replacement for Photoshop, but like Photoshop its not really ideal for animation, even though it can do it. It’ll be a super old version, but should still work on your pc. All I’d have to do is go to an web archive and download the app, install, open it, then enter the public key from adobe. They no longer support it, so you can find global activation codes made by adobe that are free (it’s supposed to be used for people who previously owned the software iirc but it’s fine, they don’t check to see if you purchased it). So, I’m not sure if flash is the some as photoshop but I used to get adobe cs2 (old) for free all the time. It has a series of vector drawing tools for creating crisp, scalable, artwork with a low file size, and relatively low memory usage. EDIT: Krita just uses a pretty good timeline system, a bit similar to TVPaint and much better than Photoshop, Sketchbook etc. If you coming from TVPaint I highly recommend Krita. The ILLUSION OF LIFE - Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston Adobe Animate is very much the opposite of TV paint when it comes to drawing. Blenders grease pencil came a long way and its great, cause you have sooo much possibilities through the 3D workarea, but drawing in there isnt the same. The Animator's Survival Kit - Richard Williams. The Animator's Survival Kit - Richard Williams ![]() Welcome to LearnAnimation!
